Chapter Twenty

Foreign Policy

Africa is still struggling to shake off negative legacies of wars and conflicts. FORD-Kenya shall be pro-active in peace-building and peace-making as well as mainstreaming economic considerations to underlie the formulation and principle of our foreign policy.

FORD-Kenya believes in consolidating the fundamental principles of freedom, equality, justice, sovereign equality, territorial integrity, political independence, good neighborliness, non-alignment, non-interference into the internal affairs of other countries, the promotion of African Unity, East, Central and Southern African integration as well as the UN in its development and peace agenda.

FORD-Kenya is committed to a forward engagement and proactive foreign policy that will be abreast with the new geopolitical and socio-economic dynamism of the post cold war world. Economic objectives shall become the driving force of a FORD-Kenya foreign policy. Special emphasis shall be placed on making Kenya a safe, stable, profitable and attractive investment destination. Business and economic development shall be the central issue and focus of our envoys and other players on the international scene.
