Governance, Law and Order
Kenya’s current constitutional framework contains weakness such as proper checks and balances, sufficient administrative structures for effective governance and accelerated development.
FORD-KENYA will endeavour to resolve this challenge by:
1. Devolve governance through empowering Local Authorities administratively and enabling use collected resources better service delivery to the public
2. Further enhance pro-active capacity building of the Security Forces to prevent and fight crime
3. Strengthen the Judiciary by allowing independence, establishing a Supreme Court and employment of more judicial officers, magistrates and judges for faster dispensation of justice
4. Enhance responsible press freedom
5. Increase the independence of the Legislature to encourage accountability
6. Ensure zero tolerance of corruption through enforcement of punitive penalties on offenders
7. Strengthen the Electoral system through quick and constant issuance of Identity cards, Passports, Elector’s cards and encourage the exercising of the constitutional right of voting for all who are eligible
