3.0 DP’s IMMEDIATE GOALS
DP’s Government immediate goals will include provision of free secondary and targeted technical training, free basic health services, devolve Government management, settling all displaced, undertake Comprehensive Constitutional Reforms, intensify infrastructure development, provide water for all, prepare a disaster management programme and deepen democratic space in the Country:
3.1 Provide free Secondary and targeted technical training
DP will provide our people with free primary, secondary and targeted technical training. Both primary and secondary schools will be compulsory.
3.2 Provide free Basic health services
Free medical services will be provided in all public hospitals, health centres and dispensaries complemented by the National Health Insurance.
3.3 Devolve the Management of the Government
The Democratic Party of Kenya Government will ensure that the power in the management of Government is decentralized and deconcentrated through strengthening the local Government.
3.4 Reduce Poverty and Unemployment
The DP Government will embark on building and promoting local entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship in industry (including small and medium enterprises), tourism and agriculture.
3.5 Undertake Comprehensive Constitutional Reforms
The Democratic Party of Kenya Government will ensure that a Comprehensive Constitutional Reform is undertaken and completed as quickly as possible as a Social Contract among Kenyans and that the reforms will be de-linked from the General Elections.
3.6 Infrastructure Development
The Democratic Party of Kenya Government will ensure that the requisite infrastructures are built for agriculture, trade and industry (including service industry), tourism, irrigation, health, education and science.
3.7 Provide Water for all
The Democratic Party of Kenya Government will ensure that all communities have access to clean and safe water.
3.8 Disaster Preparedness and Early Warning System
The Democratic Party of Kenya will urgently develop a Disaster Management Policy and build capacities to be able to handle any disasters.
3.9 Deepening Democratic Sphere in the Country
The Democratic Party would work for a cohesion and collective approach towards the transition to democracy.
